The very last roll of Kodachrome film was processed at Dwayne’s Photo Service in Parsons, Kansas last week. Dwayne’s is the only photo lab left in world to handle Kodachrome processing. Freelance photojournalist Steve McCurry (National Geographic) asked Kodak if he could shoot the last roll of 35mm film it manufactured, which he used to photograph a near-extinct tribe in India.
National Geographic has created a documentary about the journey of the final roll of Kodachrome film, which will air next spring.
A fitting YouTube tribute….
